  Gioiosa
Marea, Sicily is a small village on the mountainous north shore of the
island, located halfway between Palermo and Messina. This beach village
is home to 5,000 Sicilians and has a summer tourist season. During
a ten day intensive workshop in Gioiosa Marea, Zeke participated in a
design charrette based on the ideas and study of Information Technology
(IT). Zeke, along with fellow students, developed a parti to use in the
design of IT installations around the village. The group looked at the
city as a river where data was collected in the mountains and trickled
down into the city and distributed along nodes the way silt is
distributed along the banks of a river. The
group deisgned several installations that included light, video, and
sound as mediums for which the data was expressed as information. An article about some of the work Zeke participated in making during the Sicily Lab  has been published in L’ARCHITETTO ITALIANO / ON- OFF Magazine n. 33-34. L’Architetto Italiano is an Italian Architecture Magazine.
